I like what was said. I agree that people need to make a stand for what they believe in. I have seen teenagers in this same position before. They have friends that are sinners and some that are christains. The phrase was said to me by someone just recently; "You can't just shove what you believe down their throat. You can't say to them if you don't become a Christain then I won't be your friend.
I listened for a time afterwards and took their words and responded with this. You are right that you can't do that for you will lose them altogether. The discussion came about on how to approach people, especially your friends.

But you can't give up on just a few accounts and think that you won't be able to reach them. Jesus didn't just give up on the lost when they rejected him. He continued on and on refusing to quit just because they wouldn't listen.
You need to find ways on how to approach people. When you start talking to them slowly direct a conversation towards salvation and how their life is. I have had many dealings with people on many subjects. The Word is hard to give the sinner for they won't want here that they are wrong in what they are doing with their life. But you must try and show them what lies beyond this life.

I have a great imagination and I found out that I could imagine a great many things. I have often wondered what Hell would be like. For I have been on fire before and there is nothing pleasant about it. But I could never imagine Hell and soon after the Lake Of Fire! Even if I could I wouldn't dare try for its to horrible to imagine. But I was pushed on further with the discussion on what if they don't listen. Or if they don't want to listen?
Two very good questions. If they don't listen or rather try to avoid your talk about God keep on pushing but do it gently. There is two ways to win someone to Jesus. One is by LOVE and the other is FEAR!

I can recall a time when I was in a similar situation. The boy I was with was talking about God and what I believe. I told him first if he didn't want my opinion don't ask. But he insisted then I told him what I believed in. I told him through a state that would have him be afraid of Hell. Where fear would work better here. I knew the boy for sometime know. Love wouldn't work. This boy needed to understand what was going to happen if he didn't get right before the end. I told him to imagine having his entire body in pain, searing pain. By fire, and other tortures that were to terrible to imagine. It got him to stop smarting off and quit making fun of me.
When I was finished there was girl alonside him. She complained and told me that wasn't the way to help.
I told her the same thing! Others you win by Love and others by Fear.
But never give up on the lost. God told us to be seperated from the world. To come out from among them. What hath Light with Darkness? We are not to be equally yolked with unblievers. We are to be different, not the same.
Help your friends, family, other employers you work with, or people you meet during your day. But don't hold ties to them for they can end up hurting you greatly. Becareful in wise in your dealings with others. I am not saying to raise your nose at them for if you do that then all that will happen you is you will be dumb enough to run into a wall or something. Don't smirk or think yourself above them. For its only by grace that you are not like them or worse. But becareful in how you interact with them. Seek God and find out what he knows and move from a position of his knowledge and wisdom for if you do it on your own.... Well get ready for the consquences of your actions.

When people are between two worlds its a really trying time for they will be pulled both ways. They will try and hold onto one way while trying to hold onto another. There is only two ways Jesus said. One is narrow which few walk and another that is broad which many tread upon. Remind the younger babes of Christianity of this verse and be patient and help them along. For in the world we have only our other brothers and sisters in Chirst and that is all. Only we can understand what they are going through. For the sinner will tell them to just let it go and forget it. While at the other hand the saints will tell them to hold on and let go of the world and lean on Jesus for that is your only hope.
